Coy Robbins Sweeps the Competition in Grande Prairie, Alberta, to Win His Career-First PBR Canada Cup Series Event at the Sold-Out, Record-Setting Peace Country Invitational

GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. – As a sold-out, record-setting crowd watched on Saturday evening inside Bonnetts Energy Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) reached a crucial career-milestone, sweeping both rounds of competition en route to his first-ever PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Cup Series win, victorious at the PBR Peace Country Invitational.

As action got underway in Round 1, Robbins delivered what would prove to be the high-marked ride of the event, conquering Burnt Ends (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 87.5 points.

With the first pick in the championship round bull draft, Robbins elected to go head-to-head with Snoopy (Skori Bucking Bulls) as his final animal athlete opponent that evening. In what proved to be a perfect pairing, the 2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year covered the bull with ease en route to a championship round-best 87.3 points, clinching the event win.

Courtesy of the golden showing, Robbins earned a crucial 136 national points. He surged from No. 16 to No. 7 in the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus. He now trails No. 1 Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) by 993.33 points.

Tetz delivered a 2-for-2 showing of his own to finish second and net 84 national points.

The two-time PBR Canada Champion rode Cheeko (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 84.8 points in Round 1 and More or Less (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for 87.2 points in the championship round.

Chasing his record-tying third national title this November, the silver showing allowed Tetz to grow his lead to 356.83 points over No. 2 Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brazil).

Santana, however, prevented Tetz from growing his lead by a larger margin by delivering a third-place finish of his own at the PBR Peace Country Invitational.

As the final rider to cover both of his bovine athlete opponents, the Brazilian phenom outlasted Gypsy Man (S&M Bucking Bulls) for 83.8 points in Round 1, and Night Fury (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 87.1 points in the championship round.

Santana left Grande Prairie having earned 67.5 national points.

Lonnie West (Cadogan, Alberta) was fourth, garnering 39 national points.

West lit up the scoreboard in the opening round when he delivered the second-best score, riding Hammer Time (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 85.3 points.

In the final round, West’s hopes of victory were extinguished by Posty (Foley Bucking Bulls), who bucked him off in a quick 4.32 seconds.

West remained No. 10 in the Canadian national standings, now 1,025.83 points behind No. 1 Tetz.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Cody Fraser (Wilmington, South Australia, Australia).

Going 1-for-2, Fraser converted on Woozy (Foley Bucking Bulls) for 84.9 points in Round 1 to earn 34 national points.

Attempting to make a late-season surge to qualify for the 2026 PBR Canada National Finals on Nov. 13-14 in Edmonton, Alberta, at Rogers Place, Fraser surged from No. 41 to No. 34 in the standings.

In the bull pen, Linebacker (Skori Bucking Bulls) and Posty tied for the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event honor. The powerful animal athletes were each scored an unrivaled 42.9 points in the championship round.

Lineback earned the marks when he tossed Fraser in 1.94 seconds, while Posty delivered his top-out in his matchup with West.

Following a roughly one-month break, the 2026 PBR Canada Sup Series will next travel to Medicine Hat, Alberta, and Co-op Place for the PBR Medicine Hat Classic, presented by Art’s Excavating on Saturday, October 17.
