Flawless Nick Tetz Wins PBR Canada Touring Pro Division Event in Kindersley, Saskatchewan to Further His Grasp on the No. 1 Rank in the Championship Race

KINDERSLEY, Sask. – When the dust settled following two nights of high-adrenaline action in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) was crowned the winner, victorious at the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division’s Energy Dodge Dakota Buttar Invitational, presented by Longhorn.

The victory, Tetz’ fifth of the season within the Touring Pro Division and eighth across all levels of competition, allowed him to further his grasp on the No. 1 rank in the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship as he chases his record-tying third national title this November.

As action got underway in Round 1, Tetz was quick to strike, delivering the second-best score when he rode More or Less (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for 86.6 points. The reserved Albertan then delivered his second qualified ride in as many attempts when he bested Petty Cash (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for a Round 2-best 87.7 points.

In the final round, Tetz then went head-to-head with Toxic Dreams (Vold Rodeo). Nodding with confidence inside the Kindersley West Central Events Centre, Tetz remained in perfect time with the animal athlete, reaching the requisite 8 with ease. He was marked 86.8 points, enough to cement the win.

Garnering 143 national points for the win, No. 1 Tetz extended his lead to 340.33 points over No. 2 Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brazil).

Santana prevented Tetz from growing his lead further by delivering a fifth and eighth-place finish of his own courtesy of a double entry.

The Brazilian phenom’s fifth-place finish was headlined by an 84.6-point ride on Key-Lix Cobber (Big Stone Rodeo Co.) in Round 1 and 87.9-point effort aboard Moonwalk (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in the championship round, while his eighth-place finish included an 86.2-point ride on Berrendo (Eno Bucking Bulls) in Round 1, and 84-point score on Write This Down (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in Round 2.

Santana earned a collective 93 national points at the Dakota Buttar Invitational.

The event’s namesake, two-time PBR Canada Champion Dakota Buttar (Eatonia, Saskatchewan) was seventh. He earned 36.5 national points for his 85.3-point ride aboard Woozy (Foley Bucking Bulls) in Round 1, and 85.5-point trip atop Lord Fear (Vold Rodeo) in Round 2.

Also seeking his record-tying third PBR Canada Championship this November, Buttar maintained his No. 3 rank in Canada. He’s now 690.83 points behind No. 1 Tetz.

Returning to the top of the event leaderboard, three-time PBR Canada Champion Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) delivered a perfect 3-for-3 performance of his own to finish second.

Roy rode Uproar (Foley Bucking Bulls) for 82.7 points in Round 1, Pyper (Foley Bucking Bulls) for 86.1 points in Round 2 and Boogey (Foley Bucking Bulls) for 87.7 points in the championship round.

In the running for his unprecedented fourth national title this November, Roy earned 97 national points. He rose from No. 5 to No. 4 in the standings, propelled within 791.83 points of No. 1 Tetz.

As the final rider to go a perfect 3-for-3, Eric O’Flynn (Quesnel, British Columbia) was third, garnering 77 national points.

O’Flynn punched his ticket to the championship round after riding Midnight Rider (S&M Bucking Bulls) for 80.5 points in Round 1 and Wizkid (Foley Bucking Bulls) for 85.4 points in Round 2. The British Columbia hopeful then punctuated his efforts with an 86-point effort aboard Lil Nasty (Foley Bucking Bulls) in the championship round.

O’Flynn’s bronze showing allowed him to rise from No. 33 to No. 22 in Canada as he makes a late season push to qualify for the 2026 PBR Canada National Finals.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fourth was Ashton Sahli (Red Deer, Alberta).

Sahli was sensational in Round 1, delivering the top score when he bested Redneck (Eno Bucking Bulls) for 88.1 points. Sahli improved to 2-for-2 in Round 2 when he covered Dream Living (Vold Rodeo/R Saga Ranch) for 84.7 points.

The Albertan’s hopes for victory, however, were dashed in the final round when he was tossed by Southern Comfort (Eno Bucking Bulls) in 3.87 seconds.

Sahli left the Saskatchewan event with 62 national points. He rose from No. 19 to No. 17 in the national standings.

In the bull pen, Freyr (Foley Bucking Bulls) bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. Bucking in Round 1, the powerful animal athlete was scored an unrivaled 44.3 points for his 1.64 seconds of work against Stefan Tonita (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan).
