Morning Line – Grande Prairie Round 1

GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. – PBR Canada Cup Series bull riding is back.

After two months, the nation’s top riders and bucking bulls are ready to get back to work, and the final push to the National Finals begins this weekend in Grande Prairie, Alberta.

With just four events remaining to qualify for the National Finals in Edmonton, Alberta, on Nov. 13-14, the pressure is on for every rider to get vital points to gain ground in the standings, and for the bulls to put a high enough score on the board to be selected to buck inside Rogers Place.

Nick Tetz vs. Cheeko

This is a good bull from Skori Bucking Bulls. Nick is coming in No. 1 in Canada and is looking to keep ahead of the guys chasing him. This bull is usually away from Nick’s hand, but I can see the pair matching up well for a mid-80-point bull ride.

Dakota Buttar vs. Whiskey Moon

This is another Skori bull, and these two have matched up before. With Dakota No. 3 in the country I can see him taking advantage of the opportunity. This could even be a long round win.

Jett Lambert vs. Red Rust

The hometown cowboy should be ready to go against this veteran bull. Jett is just outside the Top 20 in Canada and I can’t think of a better place for him to make a jump than in his hometown. I have seen this bull rode multiple times this year from anywhere from 85-88 points.

Gilmar Santana vs. Gypsy Man

This will be another one to watch. Gilmar is currently No. 2 in Canada and is looking to close the gap on Nick Tetz for that No. 1 spot. They have matched up before, most recently at Armstrong, British Columbia where Gypsy Man won the battle. Look for Gilmar to rebound and put a score up in the 84-85 range.

Lonnie West vs. Hammer Time

This big, blue bull from the Skoris should go out, and turn back either way. Lonnie has been on a heater this fall in the bull riding world and is looking to keep moving on up in the Top 10 of the standings. He should be in the 84-85-point range also.
