Gilmar Santana Wins Touring Pro Division Event in Tofield, Alberta, Gaining Crucial Ground in the Race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship

TOFIELD, Alta. – As the 2026 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada season continued Wednesday night in Tofield, Alberta, Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brazil) delivered a statement performance, delivering the high-marked ride of the evening to win the Touring Pro Division’s Tofield Western Days.

Santana was tasked with Diamond Valley (Wilson Rodeo) as action got underway at Tofield Arena. In what proved to be a perfect pairing, Santana rode the bull for an unrivaled 86.1 points to cement the win.

Via a double entry, Santana also registered a fourth-place finish courtesy of his 83.5-point effort on Gypsy Man (S&M Bucking Bulls).

Leaving Tofield with 40 national points, Santana gained crucial ground on the No. 1 rank in Canada. Remaining No. 2 in the title race, he closed within 247.33 points of No. 1 Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta), who was not in competition at Tofield Western Days.

Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) was second, collecting 19 national points.

The 2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year rode Double Twist (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for 85 points.

In the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus, Robbins rose from No. 16 to No. 14.

Third was Francisco Costa (Humaita, Brazil).

Costa garnered 17 national points for his 84-point trip atop Knot Head (Wilson Rodeo).

He remained No. 7 in Canada, now 648.67 points behind No. 1 Tetz.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Jett Lambert (Grande Prairie, Alberta).

Lambert made the requisite 8 on Jerry (S&M Bucking Bulls) for 83 points, netting 12 national points. He rose from No. 44 to No. 38 in Canada.

In the bull pen, Twist & Shout (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. The powerful animal athlete was marked an unrivaled 42.1 points for his 2.5 seconds of work against Ashton Sahli (Red Deer, Alberta).
