Flawless Chanse Switzer Wins PBR Canada Touring Pro Division Event in Camrose, Alberta, to Crack the Top 15 in the Race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship

CAMROSE, Alta.  – As a sold-out crowd watched on Saturday night in Camrose, Alberta, inside the Camrose Recreational Centre, Chanse Switzer (Hazenmore, Saskatchewan) rode in electric form, going a perfect 2-for-2 to win the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division’s Rose City Invitational.

The 2024 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year was sensational in Round 1, delivering the top score when he rode Key-Lix Hudson Bay (Big Stone Rodeo Co.) for 85.5 points.

Switzer then clinched his first win of the season when he made the requisite 8 on Linebacker (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 88.2 points in the championship round.

Collecting 125 national points for the golden showing, Switzer catapulted from No. 34 to No. 11 in the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus. He now trails No. 1 Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) by 344.5 points.

Tetz was unable to grow his lead at the Rose City Invitational, shutout, going 0-for-1. The two-time PBR Canada Champion was tossed by F.A.F.O. (Outlaw Buckers Rodeo Corp.) in a heartbreaking 7.57 seconds in the opening round.

Returning to the top of the event leaderboard, Grady Young (Leader, Saskatchewan) was second.

Just one day removed from his career-first PBR Canada win in nearby Brooks, Alberta, Young continued to ride in successful form at the Rose City Invitational, besting Says Who (Thompson Rodeo/K Rose Ranch) for 83.8 points in Round 1, and Stray Bucks (S&M Bucking Bulls) for an event-best 88.7 points in the final round.

Collecting 91 national points, Young surged from No. 19 to No. 8 in Canada, propelled within 331.33 points of No. 1 Tetz.

Jeremy Maisonneuve (Val-des-monts, Quebec) was third, earning 69 points.

The 19-year-old’s bronze showing included an 84.8-point trip on BFG (Kinky Buckers) in Round 1, and an 87.5-point score atop Debt Collector (Kinky Buckers) in the championship round.

Chasing his first berth to the PBR Canada National Finals this November, Maisonneuve remained No. 2 in the national standings, but closed within 128.83 points of No. 1 Tetz.

Rounding out the Top 5 and tying for fourth was Jhett Wheeler (Sylvain Lake, Alberta) and Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brazil).

Wheeler earned 48.5 points for his 83.3-point ride aboard Honey Badger (S&M Bucking Bulls) in Round 1, and 88.6-point effort atop Magic Jam (Vold Rodeo) in the final round.

He climbed from No. 16 to No. 12 in the national standings.

For Santana, he garnered 49 points after besting Into The Fray (X6 Ranch Bucking Cattle) for 83.9 points in the opening round, and More or Less (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for 88 points in the final round. Santana rose from No. 17 to No. 14 in Canada.

In the bull pen, Dark Side (Kinky Buckers) bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. Bucking in the final round, the animal athlete was marked 43.8 points for his 3.47 seconds of work against three-time PBR Canada Champion Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan).
