Dalton Allred Wins Round 1 of PBR Canada Cup Series Event in Lethbridge, Alberta

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – As the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Cup Series event in Lethbridge, Alberta, got underway Friday night, Dalton Allred (Cleveland, Utah) rode a cut above the rest, winning Round 1 of the PBR South Country Co-op Showdown to catapult to an early event lead.

Allred was tasked with Whisky At Noon (Vold Rodeo) in the opening round. In what proved to be a perfect pairing, Allred made the requisite 8 on the powerful animal athlete for 87.9 points to secure the Round 1 win.

The top marks netted Allred a crucial 28 national points. He climbed from unranked to No. 14 in the PBR Canada national standings.

Two-time PBR Canada Champion and defending event-winner Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) was second in the opening round.

Tetz secured the podium finish in the opening round via an 85.7-point ride atop Counting Sheep (Vold Rodeo).

The score also earned Tetz a berth to the event’s accompanying 5/5 Bucking Battle. In the special round, Tetz logged the third-best score, covering Night Fury (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 84.6 points.

Tetz earned 33 national points Friday night inside VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

Chasing his sixth consecutive Cup Series event win in Lethbridge, Tetz furthered his stronghold on the No. 1 rank in Canada, growing his lead over No. 2 Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) to 229 national points.

Jake Gardner (Fort St. John, British Columbia) was third in Round 1.

Gardner conquered Hammer Time (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 85.6 points.

Also riding in the 5/5 Bucking Battle, Gardner once again converted, topping Carved In Stone (Vold Rodeo/Sure Fire Bucking Bulls) for 86.3 points.

Netting 33 national points on the opening night of action, Gardner rose from No. 12 to No. 9 in the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus.

Fourth in Round 1 was Ashton Sahli (Red Deer, Alberta).

Sahli’s 84.3-point ride on Hiway Junky (Wilson Rodeo) garnered him 16 national points, propelling him from No. 18 to No. 15 in Canada.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Stefan Tonita (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), riding Kraken (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 83.8 points.

Earning the fifth and final berth to the 5/5 Bucking Battle, Tonita made the most of his chance to ride again, winning the special round via an 89.5-point ride on Monster Chip (TFB Ranch).

Tonita’s two qualified rides earned him 38 national points. He surged from No. 8 to No. 4 in Canada.

The PBR South Country Co-op Showdown concludes Saturday, March 7 with Round 2 and the championship round. Action will get underway at 7:00 p.m. MT.
