CALGARY, Alta. – As the five-night run of PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division action at Grey Eagle Resort & Casino got underway Tuesday, Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brazil) delivered a statement performance, delivering the high-marked ride to win the opening Cody Snyder Charity Bullbustin’.

Santana was tasked with Stray Bucks (S&M Bucking Bulls). In what proved to be a perfect pairing, Santana dominated the bull for 88.3 points to clinch the win, his third PBR Canada victory of 2026.

Collecting 88 national points for the golden finish, Santana furthered his grasp on the No. 2 rank in the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus. He closed within 251.33 points of No. 1 Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta).

Two-time PBR Canada Champion Tetz tied for third Tuesday evening. He rode Patiently Waiting (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 86.9 points to collect 36.5 national points.

Fellow two-time PBR Canada Champion Dakota Buttar (Eatonia, Saskatchewan) tied for third alongside Tetz.

Buttar earned 36.5 national points for his 86.9-point ride on Up Roar (S&M Bucking Bulls). The reserved Saskatchewan man gained one position in the Canadian standings, rising from No. 4 to No. 3. He now trails No. 1 Tetz by 446.33 points.

Down the leaderboard, two-time PBR Canada Champion Cody Coverchuk (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan) was also in action Tuesday night, riding Jerry (S&M Bucking Bulls) for 85.5 points to finish eighth and net 13 national points. He remained No. 8 in the national standings, now 557.17 points behind No. 1 Tetz.

Should Tetz, Buttar or Coverchuk win this season’s Championship they would tie Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan) for most national titles won by one rider with three.

Roy, however, is seeking his unprecedented fourth PBR Canada Championship and was in competition Tuesday evening.

He delivered an 84.7-point ride on Walkin Tall (Skori Bucking Bulls) during the first Cody Snyder Charity Bullbustin’ to finish tenth. Taking home 10 national points, he remained No. 10 in Canada, now 595.83 points behind No. 1 Tetz.

Returning to the top of the event leaderboard, Trinity Bear (Whitewood, Saskatchewan) rode Times A Tickin (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for 87.2 points to finish second, netting 58 national points.

On the hunt for his first PBR Canada Championship this November, Bear surged from 17 to No. 11 in the title standings.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Jordan Hansen (Amisk, Alberta).

Fresh off his win at the nearby Touring Pro Division event in Ponoka, Alberta, Hansen made the requisite 8 on Waiting On Hank (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) for 86.1 points to earn 25 national points.

In the 2026 PBR Canada Championship race, Hansen remained No. 5. He is now 458.83 points behind No. 1 Tetz.

In the bull pen, Night Fury (Skori Bucking Bulls) and Linebacker (Skori Bucking Bulls) bucked supreme, delivering matching 43.5-point outs to tie for the Bull of the Event honor.

Night Fury earned the unrivaled score for his 2.37 seconds of work against Andrew Alvidrez (Seminole, Texas), while Linebacker posted the top score when he bested Jayden Roy (Mascouche, Quebec) in 2.38 seconds.
