CLUNY, Alta. – As the intense summer slate of PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada events continued Thursday night in Cluny, Alberta, Francisco Costa (Humaita, Brazil) showed up and showed out, going a perfect 2-for-2 to win the Touring Pro Division’s Cluny Charity PBR.

The win was Costa’s first of 2026 and second of his career. The Brazilian earned the victory as the only rider to go a perfect 2-for-2 at the event.

Costa first struck in the opening round when he covered Honey Badger (S&M Bucking Bulls) for 82.4 points. His momentum then continued in the second round when he outlasted Whisper On A Scream (Thompson Rodeo/K Rose Ranch) for 82.8 points.

Courtesy of the golden finish, Costa collected a crucial 55 national points in the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus, propelling him from No. 18 to No. 9 in the standings. He inched within 579.67 points of the No. 1 rank.

Two-time PBR Canada Champion Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) was second, netting 36 national points.

Tetz rode lights out in Round 1, delivering the top score when he covered Crazy Coupe (X6 Ranch Bucking Cattle) for and event-best 85.8 points. The reserved Albertan was denied a shot at the victory when he was upended by Knot Head (Wilson Rodeo) in a hard-fought 4.17 seconds in the final round.

Chasing his record-tying third PBR Canada Championship this November, Tetz solidified his grip on the No. 1 rank in Canada. He grew his lead to 372.83 points over No. 2 Gilmar Santana (Ouro Preto, Brazil).

Santana was in action at the Cluny Charity PBR but failed to gain ground on Tetz after going 0-for-1, bucked off by Tombstone (TFB Ranch) in 4.81 seconds in Round 1.

Trinity Bear (Whitewood, Saskatchewan) and Chanse Switzer (Hazenmore, Saskatchewan) tied for third, both logging matching 83-point rides.

For Bear, he rode Jerry (S&M Bucking Bulls) for 83 points in Round 1, before being thrown by Last Flight Tonight (Skori Bucking Bulls) in a swift 1.62 seconds in Round 2. Leaving Cluny with 21.5 national points, Bear surged from No. 20 to No. 16 in Canada.

Switzer was unsuccessful in the opening round, bucked off by Brindle Bob (Legend Rodeo) in 3.29 seconds, but was quick to rebound, topping Bullseye (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 83 points in the final round. Returning home with 24.5 national points, Switzer climbed from No. 16 to No. 14 in the standings.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Marshall Senger (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan).

Senger netted 17 national points for his 82.6-point score aboard Double Twist (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in Round 2. Chasing his first national title, Senger remained No. 5 in Canada, now 491.33 points behind No. 1 Tetz.

In the bull pen, Red Dirt Road (Wilson Rodeo) bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. Bucking in the opening round, the powerful animal athlete was marked an unrivaled 44.6 points for his 7.14 seconds of work against veteran contender Aaron Roy (Yellow Grass, Saskatchewan).
