OTTAWA, Ont. – In front of a record-setting Saturday night crowd in Ottawa, Ontario, Jared Parsonage (Maple Creek, Saskatchewan) delivered a dominant 2-for-2 performance, including a monster 90-point ride, to win the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Cup Series’ Ottawa Classic at the Canadian Tire Centre.
As competition got underway with Round 1, Parsonage was tasked with Red Rust (Vold Rodeo). Parsonage dominated the bull for 85 points, punching his ticket to the championship round tied for third.
With an early selection in the final round’s bull draft, Parsonage elected to take on Moonwalk (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) as his final animal athlete opponent inside the home of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators.
Parsonage delivered a picture-perfect ride, conquering the bovine for a mammoth 90 points to cement the event win.
Courtesy of the golden finish, Parsonage earned a crucial 205 national points.
Seeking his first PBR Canada Championship this November, the reserved Saskatchewan man rose form No. 6 to No. 3 in the national standings, now 332.17 points behind No. 1 Dakota Buttar (Eatonia, Saskatchewan).
Two-time PBR Canada Champion Buttar solidified his position atop the standings by going a flawless 2-for-2 to finish second.
Buttar rode Rattle Bones (CJ Bucking Bulls) for 85.5 points in Round 1 and Whoopsie Hustle (CJ Bucking Bulls) for 84 points in the championship round to collect 142 national points.
On the hunt for his record-tying third Canadian title, Buttar now leads No. 2 Jake Gardner (Fort St. John, British Columbia) by an increased 136.5 national points.
Gardner was third.
The consistent British Columbia rider first converted in the opening round, topping Clear The Village (CJ Bucking Bulls) for 82 points. He then punctuated his time in Ottawa with an 87-point effort aboard Kryptonite (Vold Rodeo) in the championship round.
Gardner left Ottawa with 105.5 national points.
Fourth was 2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta).
Robbins’ 85-point ride atop Cat Fish (Black Creek Rodeo Company) in Round 1 and 79.5-point score on All Apologies (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in the final round garnered him 70 national points.
The Albertan remained No. 7 in Canada, now 475.5 points behind No. 1 Buttar.
Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Daniel Keeping (Montague, Texas).
Despite bucking off Nosler (Two Bit Bucking Bulls) in a close 5.47 seconds in Round 1, Keeping, who rides for the 2023 PBR Teams World Champion Texas Rattlers, rebounded in fast form.
Paired with Pagewire (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) in the championship round, Keeping delivered the first 90-point ride of the 2025 PBR Canada Season, marked a commanding 90 points to tie for the round win.
Keeping returned to the United States with 68 national points, climbing from No. 23 to No. 15 in the national standings.
In the bull pen, Moonwalk bucked supreme, crowned the YETI “Built for the Wild” Bull of the Event. Moonwalk was scored an unrivaled 44.5 points during his dominant out with Parsonage.
Following a near one-month break, the PBR Canada Cup Series will next travel to Kelowna, British Columbia, and Prospera Place for the PBR Okanagan Challenge on Thursday, July 17. Action will get underway at 7 p.m. PT. Tickets can be purchased at the Prospera Place Box Office, by phone at (250) 762-5050 or online at SelectYourTickets.com.
