Francisco Costa Wins PBR Canada Touring Pro Division’s Czar Lake Bullarama

CZAR, Alta. – Friday night in Czar, Alberta, Brazilian Francisco Costa (Humaita, Brazil) dominated at the one-round PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada Touring Pro Division event, delivering the top score to win the Czar Lake Bullarama.

Costa was paired with Joker On A Jack (Thompson Rodeo Livestock) at the Czar Lake Rodeo Grounds. Proving to be a perfect combination, Costa conquered the animal athlete for an unmatched 86 points.

Courtesy of a double-entry, Costa also tied for fifth via an 83.5-point effort atop Bullseye (Skori Bucking Bulls).

Costa left Alberta with 106 national points, rising from No. 9 to No. 7 in the race for the 2025 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus. He now trails No. 1 Dakota Buttar (Eatonia, Saskatchewan) by 425.17 points.

Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) was second, garnering 58 national points.

The 2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year secured his silver showing by besting Rock Steady (Vold Rodeo) for 85 points.

On the hunt for his first PBR Canada Championship this November, Robbins is now ranked No. 8, trailing the top spot by 464.5 points.

Third was Wyatt Gleeson (Sundre, Alberta).

The veteran competitor made the requisite 8 on Key Lix Fingers (Big Stone Rodeo Co.) for 84.5 points, collecting 44 Canadian points.

Gleeson’s podium finish propelled him from unranked to No. 32 in Canada.

Koltin Hevalow (McAlester, Oklahoma) parlayed an 84-point ride on Ranahan (Kinky Buckers) into a fourth-place finish and 29 Canadian points.

Hevalow, who rides for the Kansas City Outlaws in the separate PBR Teams league, remained No. 10 in the national standings. He is now 527.17 points behind No. 1 Buttar.

Rounding out the Top 5, and tying for fifth alongside Costa, were Jordan Hansen (Amisk, Alberta), Chanse Switzer (Hazenmore, Saskatchewan) and Grady Young (Leader, Saskatchewan).

Each rider logged an 83.5-point score to collect 18 Canadian points.

Hansen rode Watermelon Sugar Hi (Kinky Buckers) to remain No. 6 in Canada, Switzer bested Smog (Kinky Buckers) to rise from No. 21 to No. 18, and Young topped Kraken (Skori Bucking Bulls) to climb from unranked to No. 40.

In the bull pen, Hanna Motors Stand By You (Skori Bucking Bulls) bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. The powerful animal athlete was marked an unrivaled 42 points for his 3.75 seconds of work with Ashton Sahli (Red Deer, Alberta).

The 2025 PBR Canada season continues Thursday, July 24 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan for the McDonald’s Colby Cave Memorial PBR Classic. Action at the Access Communication Centre begins at 7 p.m. CST.
