We’ve got lots of great riders, everybody's feeling fresh, and the bulls are fresh. We’re going to see a lot of new bulls to the scene. The guys that are bringing them to town are reputable contractors, so you know what they are bringing is going to be good.

Looking forward to an awesome kick off to the Canada Cup Series events. We’re going to see a lot of great rides in the long round from guys like Jake Gardner, Coy Robbins, Nick Tetz and Cody Coverchuk. But there are a few others that standout to me.
Below are my bets for Round 1 of the event from Red Deer. Let us know your thoughts and your picks for the Cup Series event by tagging @PBRCanada on X.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Tickets Alberta Box Office located in the Marchant Crane Centrium foyer, online at TicketsAlberta.ca, or charge by phone at (866) 340-4450.
Dalton Allred vs. To The Point
Dalton is a young hot shot, that a lot of people haven't gotten to see yet. I got to watch him quite a bit now. The 3D Bull Riding athlete looks like he's all there, the full meal deal. He's been 90 a few times, in Denver and Las Vegas. This weekend he’s making his Canadian debut and this bull is going to fit his style really well. Should be in the gate to the right, little bit of suck back to him, one that they don't ride a whole bunch. Look for a possible round win here for an 86-87-point score.
Aaron Roy vs. World Wide
Aaron, the wily veteran is showing up for another year. Look for him to keep on the roll that he does. He’s truly one of Canada’s best ever, one of the best ever in the world, and the longevity that he’s had in his career is next to none. This is a rematch for him. Bull should be around to the right. Aaron rode him previously for 84-85 points. Look for the same thing again here to set himself up great for the 2026 season.
Weston Davidson vs. Rock Steady
Weston is feeling great, he’s fresh. He came to my house the other day, rode one and looks like his skills are sharp. Look for a breakout season for Weston this year, and a good kickoff will be on Rock Steady, one that all the guys want to get on. If you could hand pick one out of the long round, I think this might be the one that gets rode quite a bit for great scores, and looks like he rides good. Rock Steady should be out a couple, and around to the right, away from Weston's hand. He likes them going that way. Look for a great score, 86-87 points to set himself up great for the short round.
Jhett Wheeler vs. Broken Pearl
Jhett is a big, tall, young kid that made the CFR, and coming into the PBR now. This kid, along Dalton Allred who I was talking about earlier, is the real deal. He's got all the talent in the world. He can ride rank bulls, has a good attitude, look for him to really take off within the PBR Canada scene. This is a great bull, Broken Pearl. Should be right in the gate to the right. This bull’s been around for a long time. He's in the short rounds quite often. He’s really good. A little bit of a step ahead to him. This could be a great opportunity for Jhett to show the PBR Canada world what he’s all about. Could be a possible round here as well, with an 87-88-point ride.
Dakota Buttar vs. Joker On A Jack
Buttar is looking for that next Canadian title. He's been around for a long time. He’s a wily veteran and I think it just goes to show the money that these guys are riding for now is keeping these guys around and they don’t want to retire, they want to stay in the game and ride win all that money, which is great to see. You’re seeing talents like Buttar, like Aaron Roy, these guys just seem to keep getting better and better every year and they're not letting these young guys come in and take their money. So look for Dakota Buttar to do the same thing here on Joker On A Jack. He’s a black and white paint bull that Cody Coverchuk rode at the Canadian Finals. This bull should fit right into Buttar’s wheelhouse, 86 points and a great start to the season for Dakota.
Wacey Schalla vs. Linebacker
How can you not? How can you leave out one of the top guys in the whole entire world? It’s great to have Wacey up in Red Deer. The bull that he's got, Linebacker, I think fits Wacey’s style very, very good. He has a very good form, especially when they go away from his hand and that's what this bull is going to do. He’s going to be right in the gate to the left, have a bunch of suck back right around the corner, and then kind of start fading and moving and get to riding good. They get great scores on this bull from the Skori firm. Look for Wacey to style him up. Like I’ve said on the other ones too, this could be a possible round with 86-87 points.
