Morning Line – Edmonton Round 1

EDMONTON, Alta. – As we roll into Rogers Place we look forward to a great conclusion of a phenomenal season and one of the tightest title races that we've had in history.

The bullpen that’s been put together looks phenomenal, and the riders look like they're ready to go. Everybody's been firing on all cylinders the last few events of the year. It's going to be a shooting match when it comes down to the Championship.

Lots of great matchups. We're going to see some rides from Garrett Green, Cody Coverchuk and Chanse Switzer. Ashton Sahli also has a great matchup tonight if he does his job right.

Below are my bets for Round 1 of the 2025 Command Tubular PBR Canada National Finals, presented by Edmonton’s Best Hotels. Jared Parsonage vs. Jet Black

Jared Parsonage is the No. 1 man coming into the Canada Finals coming off of a Canadian Championship on the rodeo side of things. He's looking to double down on the PBR side of things. I don't think there's many bulls that are going to buck this guy off. This one we’ve seen a few times. Dakota Buttar was 87 on him up in Grand Prairie. We saw Wacey Schalla ride him in Medicine Hat. He’s a good one form the Skori firm, should be right in the gate to the left, up and down, kicking and spinning A very good matchup for Jared to set himself up for a good pick in Round 2, 85-86 points.

Dakota Buttar vs. Magic Jam
Dakota Buttar is in the race, he needs to make up some ground, needs to make up some points. I think this is a great matchup for him to do that on. This little red-white faced bull, should be right in the gate to the right, away from Buttar’s hand. He loves them going that way, and he gets to styling them up and gets all the points out of a bull. He’s got a really good style that way. This bulls is snappy and popping up underneath himself. Look for a possible round win, 87 points here.

Jake Gardner vs. Grand Slam

Once again, we’ve seen this bull a few times. We saw Shay Marks win the round on him not long ago in Saskatoon. A big, brown, flat-horned bull. Should be out, around to the right, into Jake's hand. Should fit Jake’s style phenomenally. A great matchup for him. Same thing, this is Top 5 matchup for the round to set himself up for a good pick. Look for him to open up with that outside foot, have some fun and set himself up great for the weekend.

Jordan Hansen vs. Night Fury

Jordan is a little ways back, he’s go to make up some ground as well. I’ve seen this bull a few times, he's just been pretty good, and then the last one or two times I saw him, he stepped it up and really bucked. Into the gate and to the left. Really looked phenomenal in Saskatoon, a lot of action, one of the better bulls out in Saskatoon in my opinion and should fit Jordan perfectly well. Look for him to try to gain some points on those guys. He needs them to slip up and he needs to do all the winning that he can. I think this is a great matchup for him to place high in the round.

Nick Tetz vs. Hanna Motors Stand By You
We haven't seen Tetz all year, he broke his Femur right off the hop, and then came back at the end of the year and got enough points to still stay in the Top 10 in the Canadian standings which is absolutely phenomenal and unheard of. It just shows the talent that this guy has, that the few events he went to, he was able to stay in the Top 10 and make the Finals alone. That is a huge accomplishment after breaking a femur. He won Yorkton last weekend, rolling hot, riding good, has his confidence back. This bull has a couple different trips to him. Nick is going to have to do some work. He should be around to the right and then maybe back to the left. He was a little on the slower side the last time that I saw him in Saskatoon. But this bull usually has a lot of action, really jammy. Look for him after the whistle to come get a guy. We’ve got to be on our toes and be ready for him. But Tetz, I don’t think you’d going to buck him off this weekend as well. Look for an 85-86-point ride if everything goes the way that it should and set himself up great.

Callum Miller vs. Tactical Error

This is a bull that we haven't seen a whole lot in the PBR. This bull’s been heavy on the rodeo trail with the Calgary Stampede and Kinky Buckers. We saw them win the Ponoka Stampede on this bull, they won rounds in Calgary, they won rounds at the CFR, they win rounds everywhere they take him, and look for no different here. This bull is going to blow in the air, have a lot of pop, a lot of kick and drop. Around to the right, into Callum’s hand. Callum is part of the Austin Gambler squad and has all the confidence in the world coming in here ready to spur anything that he gets on. Look for him to do that here, have some fun with this one. This could be an 88 and maybe break the 90-point barrier in the very first round of action. So we're looking forward to watching all these guys risde and put on phenomenal Finals.
