EDMONTON, Alta. – Ahead of the 2025 Command Tubular PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada National Finals, presented by Edmonton’s Best Hotels, in Edmonton, Alberta, on Nov. 14-15, the organization has announced the 20 riders who will compete for the historic $250,000 prize purse and 2025 PBR Canada Championship inside the state-of-the-art Rogers Place.

The upcoming National Finals will cap a record year for PBR Canada. The 2025 season will mark the first that the organization has awarded more than $1 million to competitors across the 36-event season.

A maximum of 360 points are available to one rider via the rounds and aggregate, with an additional 36 maximum ride-score points up for grabs. As a result, the 2025 PBR Canada Championship, and accompanying $100,000 bonus, will come down to a ride-off between No. 1 Jared Parsonage, No. 2 Dakota Buttar (-71 points) and No. 3 Jake Gardner (-102.83 points).

Veteran contender Parsonage is looking to cement his name in the Western sports record books, attempting to become the first athlete in history to win the CPRA (Canadian Pro Rodeo Association) title and PBR Canada Championship in the same season.

Fresh off winning his third CPRA bull riding title in early October, Parsonage made a late-season surge to begin the PBR Canada National Finals ranked No. 1.  The Saskatchewan native overtook the top spot in Canada in late October by winning the final Cup Series event of the season in front of a record-setting, home province crowd in Saskatoon.

Parsonage went a torrid 29-for-47 during 2025’s regular season, riding 61.7% of his animal athlete competitors. His campaign has been headlined by a PBR Canada-best three Cup Series victories, along with two additional wins on the developmental Touring Pro Division. Parsonage also leads all competitors in round wins, amassing 11 across both the Cup Series and Touring Pro Division.

The 2022 PBR Canada National Finals event winner also delivered the first of three 90-point rides on Canadian soil in 2025, topping Moonwalk for a monster 90 points en route to his first Cup Series win in June in Ottawa.

Two-time PBR Canada Champion Buttar has delivered a notable season of his own as he attempts to win his record-tying third national title.

Winning three PBR Canada Cup Series events, Buttar delivered the top riding percentage on home soil among riders with 15 or more outs, going 30-for-47, making the requisite 8 on 63.83% of his draws.

The field of PBR Canada Championship contenders is rounded out by No. 3 Gardner. In addition to his Cup Series win in Brandon, Manitoba, Gardner stood atop the podium at four Touring Pro Division stops throughout 2025.

Gardner attempted the most bulls throughout the season, amassing a 34-for-65 record as he covered 53.13% of the bulls he climbed aboard. The British Columbia cowboy also registered 38 entries in 2025, tallying an unrivaled 2,877 aggregate points. By way of these two accomplishments, Gardner was crowned the 2025 Road Warrior, earning the accompanying $10,000 bonus, and 2025 Wrangler MVP, collecting the associated $25,000 bonus.

While they may not be in contention for the 2025 PBR Canada Championship, the remainder of the field of qualifiers is talent packed.

Alongside Buttar, fellow PBR Canada Champions Cody Coverchuk (2018, 2021), Aaron Roy (2008, 2010, 20120) and Nick Tetz (2022, 2024) have also qualified for the 2025 PBR Canada National Finals, ranked No. 7, No. 8 and No. 10, respectively. While Tetz will make the journey to Edmonton outside the Championship conversation he will be seeking history as he attempts to become just the second rider in history to win the National Finals event title in consecutive seasons.

The year-end event will also include member of the 2023 PBR Teams World Champion Texas Rattlers Daniel Keeping. Keeping debuted on Canadian soil in 2025, registering Top-11 finishes at each of his four outings. Keeping notably delivered one of just three 90-point rides in PBR Canada in 2025 when he conquered Pagewire for 90 point en route to a fifth-place finish at the Cup Series event in Ottawa.

As part of PBR Canada’s transcontinental partnership with PBR Australia, Luan Crystian Camara will make his Canadian debut at the National Finals.

The 20 riders who will compete in Edmonton are:

The 2025 Command Tubular PBR Canada National Finals, presented by Edmonton’s Best Hotels, will feature four rounds of bull riding. Each rider will get on one bull in Round 1 and Round 2 on Friday and Round 3 on Saturday.

The 12 bull riders with the top combined ride scores will then advance to the championship round on Saturday where they will attempt one final bull in an effort to win the PBR Canada National Finals event and earn crucial points to be crowned the 2025 PBR Canada Champion. During the event Round 2, Round 3 and the championship round will feature a rider drafted draw, while Round 1 will be pre-determined.

PBR also announced the Canadian National Finals bullfighters who will take to the dirt to protect the 20 competing bull riders.

Jesse Byrne, Tanner Byrne, and Brett Monea will be vigilant throughout each 8-second ride or wreck throughout the week. Logan Kadlec will also be on hand inside Rogers Place as an alternate bullfighter. Of note, the 2025 PBR Canada National Finals will mark the first time the Byrne brothers will work the year-end event together. Jesse Byrne has been voted to work the event 10 prior times in his career, most recently in 2018.

In 2019, Tanner Byrne earned his first selection to work the PBR Canada National Finals, becoming the first individual to both ride and cowboy protect at the year-end event.

The bull riding action for 2025 Command Tubular PBR Canada National Finals, presented by Edmonton’s Best Hotels, begins at 7:00 p.m. MST on Friday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 15 at Rogers Place.
