OYEN, Alta. – As the 2026 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada season rode on Wednesday night in Oyen, Alberta, Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) showed up and showed out, going a perfect 2-for-2 and sweeping both rounds of competition at the Touring Pro Division event, to win the Happy Buckin’ New Years Professional Bullarama at Crossroads Ag Center. The win allowed Tetz to overtake the No. 1 rank in the race for the 2026 PBR Canada Championship and accompanying $100,000 bonus.

Tetz, who is chasing his record-tying third national title this season, got off to a quick start, winning Round 1 when he went the distance on Rorketon Ripper (Vold Rodeo) for 86.3 points.

The reserved Albertan then took on Snow Day (X6 Ranch Bucking Cattle/Legend Rodeo Stock) in the championship round. Dominating the bovine athlete with ease, Tetz was awarded an event-best 88 points to cement his victory.

Leaving the event with 136 national points, Tetz rose from No. 2 to No. 1 in the national standings, propelled 104 points ahead of new No. 2 Trinity Bear (Whitewood, Saskatchewan).

Bear delivered a flawless 2-for-2 showing of his own to finish second and net 81 national points.

Bear bested Kryptonite (Vold Rodeo) for 80.5 points in Round 1, and Rank Frank (X6 Ranch Bucking Cattle/Legend Rodeo Stock) for 87.2 points in the championship round.

Unranked prior to the event, Bear catapulted to No. 2 in Canada.

As the final rider to cover both of his animal athlete opponents, Coy Robbins (Camrose, Alberta) was third.

The 2017 PBR Canada Rookie of the Year logged an 81.4-point ride atop Hiway Junky (Wilson Rodeo) in Round 1, and 80.8-point effort aboard Toxic Masculinity (X6 Ranch Bucking Cattle) in the final round.

Collecting 66 national points inside Crossroads Ag Center, Robbins rose from unranked to No. 3 in Canada. He now trails No. 1 Tetz by 119 points.

Stefan Tonita (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) was fourth, earning 39 national points.

Tonita made the 8 on Lucifer (Wilson Rodeo) for 84.8 points in Round 1. However, the young Saskatchewan man was denied a win when he was tossed by Just Cause (Vold Rodeo/R Saga Ranch) in a hard-fought 7.51 seconds.

Chasing his first PBR Canada Championship this November, Tonita rose from No. 6 to No. 5 in Canada. He now trails the No. 1 rank by 133 points.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth was Jhett Wheeler (Sylvain Lake, Alberta).

Wheeler was dealt a close buckoff in the opening round, launched by Im A Playa (Legend Rodeo) in 7.44 seconds, but rebounded in fast form in the championship round, covering Silver Creek (Vold Rodeo) for 84.7 points.

Wheeler earned 34 national points and rose from unranked to No. 7 in Canada, climbing within 151 points of the top spot.

In the bull pen, Snow Day bucked supreme, crowned the Bull of the Event. The powerful animal athlete was marked an unrivaled 43.5 points when he teamed with Tetz for the event-winning ride in the championship round.
