KINSELLA, Alberta – Competing at just his fifth event on Canadian soil, Brady Fielder (Clermont, Queensland, Australia) brought the electric crowd inside the Kinsella Graveldome to its feet, delivering a flawless 2-for-2 performance to capture the win at the Touring Pro Division’s Kinsella Graveldome PBR.

The 20-year-old began the Wednesday night event strong, tying for second in Round 1 after riding Can’t Catch Me (Wild Hoggs Bucking Bulls) for 83 points.

Determined to stand atop the shark cage for the first time in his career on North American soil, Fielder surged to the lead in the championship round when he made the 8 aboard Thunder Road (Eno Bucking Bulls) for 86 points.

Fielder left the Alberta event with a check for $3,784.63, in addition to 281.67 Canadian and 60 world points.

In the Canadian national standings, the first-year rider gained significant ground, rising from No. 43 to No. 24.

With the Top 20 set to advance to the 2019 PBR Monster Energy Canadian Finals, presented by Dakota Dunes Casino, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Nov. 22-23, Fielder is now within 85.83 points of the cutline and his chance to compete for the $50,000 bonus set to be presented to the nation’s 2019 champion.

Fielder also rose in the world standings.

Ranked No. 48 in the world prior to the event, he is now No. 42. He is 120 points outside of the Top 35 and a berth to the elite PBR Unleash The Beast for Last Cowboy Standing, the third Major of the season, at the iconic Cheyenne Frontier Days on July 22-23.

Jackson Scott (Kamloops, British Columbia) finished second, earning $2,845.37, 203.33 Canadian and 30 world points.

In his first out of the evening, Scott rode his way to the fifth best marks of round one, reaching the whistle aboard Finning Overhaul (Flying Four Bucking Bulls) for 82 points.

The 21-year-old then recorded the high-marked ride of the event in the championship round when he covered Tom Petty (Skori Bucking Bulls) for 86 points.

Scott is now firmly ranked inside the nation’s Top 10 as he looks to return to the PBR Canada Finals for the first time since 2017. Ranked No. 16 prior to the event, he is now No. 9 in Canada, 1,342.49 points behind No. 1 Jared Parsonage (Maple Creek, Saskatchewan).

Paraguay’s Fabian Dueck finished third, backed by a Round 1-winning, 85.5-point trip on Done Talking (Eno Bucking Bulls).

The Top 5 finish earned the South American competitor $1,823.25, 165 Canadian and 20 world points. He is now ranked No. 33 in Canada, up 20 positions from No. 53.

Jordan Hansen (Okotoks, Alberta) and Lane Mellers (Mundubberra, Queensland, Australia) tied for fourth, each netting $950.30, 94.17 Canadian and 12.5 world points.

Both recording 83-point rides in Round 1, Hansen covered Finning Mr. Ripley (Flying Four Bucking Bulls), while Mellers reached the 8 seconds on Chances (Wild Hoggs Bucking Bulls).

For Hansen, the Top 5 finish allowed him to inch closer to recapturing the nation’s No. 1 ranking. Surpassing Daylon Swearingen (Piffard, New York) for the No. 2 position in the Canadian standings, Hansen now trails top-ranked Parsonage by 467.49 points.

PBR Canada action continues on Friday, July 12 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan at Lloydminster Exhibition Park for the Lloydminster PBR. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. MDT.
