Justin Lloyd wins PBR's first-ever stop in Toronto

TORONTO, Ontario – Justin Lloyd (Tisdale, Saskatchewan) won the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) first-ever event in Toronto, at Ricoh Coliseum, after logging the winning ride in Round 1.

In the first round, the 29-year-old rode Otis (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) for 86 points, tying his high-marked ride of the season. The finish comes after Lloyd finished second in Ottawa, Ontario for the tour’s second event of the season.

For the win Lloyd earned $7,821.00 CAD and 450 points towards the Canadian National Standings, where he is now No.4, just 520.83 points back from the No.1 position.

Lloyd also earned 80 points towards the world standings, lifting him from No.60 to No.45, 72.91 points away from the No.35 spot of a coveted Built Ford Tough Series berth.

Tyler Harr (Hazen, Arkansas) earned his third second place finish of the year after riding Last One Standing (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) for 85 points in Round 1. The finish earned him $5,908.50 CAD, 200 Canadian points, and 50 points towards the world standings.

Finishing third was Lachlan Richardson (Gresford, NSW, Australia). The 24-year-old rode Wild Mexican (Rafter P) for 84 points in Round 1, earning $3,996.00 CAD, 150 Canadian points, and 30 world points.

Eli Byler (Nashville, Ohio) logged the highest finish of his PBR career with his fourth place effort in Toronto. Byler made the eight aboard True Grit (Mike Miller Bucking Bulls) in Round 1 for 82.5 points. Byler earned $2,871.00 CAD and 100 points towards the Canadian National Standings.

Rounding out the Top 5 was Marcos Antonio da Gloria (Central de Minas, Brazil) who rode Wrongful Termination (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) for 81.5 points in Round 1. The finish earned the Brazilian $1,903.50 CAD and 75 Canadian points.

No qualified rides were logged in the championship round.

PBR Canada’s Monster Energy Tour now heads west, making its next stop in Calgary, Alberta and the Agrium Western Events Centre on September 23rd.
