Bohon heads to Built Ford Tough Series
CALGARY, Alberta (August 11, 2011) - After winning the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Canada Touring Pro (CTP) event in Eatonia, SK, and placing in the Top 5 in the Lashburn, SK, and Elnora, AB, CTP events, Matt Bohon of Cole Camp, MO, won the PBR Canada Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) incentive. Bohon, the highest accumulated money earner from the three back-to-back CTP events, took home $4,326.16 to receive a spot on the BFTS in Springfield, Missouri, September 16-18.
“I am finally having some good luck this year,” Bohon said. “I drew good bulls and did what I had to do.”
Bohon, who missed two months of competition after breaking his jaw in early April, covered four of six bulls over the three-day run and is confident he will continue to ride well leading up to his first BFTS appearance of the season.
“I want to keep up this pace heading into Springfield. I have worked hard all year to put myself in a good position to qualify for the World Finals and being successful in Springfield could give me that chance.”
Held at the JQH Arena, the PFIwestern.com Invitational presented by Bass Pro Shops is the 25th stop on the nationally-televised Built Ford Tough Series, which makes 29 stops in 23 states. The season began at world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York, and culminates Oct. 26-30 in Las Vegas at the richest bull riding event in the world, the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals. The Finals is where the 2011 PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded the $1 million Built Ford Tough bonus.
