Canada's best bull riders compete Saturday, May 7
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (May 4, 2011) - For the first time ever, the Halifax Metro Centre will host the best bull riders in Canada and throughout the world when the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) continues its Canadian Cup Series Saturday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. For one action-packed night, PBR superstars will take on the rankest bucking bulls on the planet at the eighth date on the Series. Tickets for the Halifax Invitational start at just $15 and are available now at participating Atlantic Superstore Ticket outlets and the Ticket Atlantic box office; online at www.ticketatlantic.com; and by telephone at (902) 451-1221.
New this year, fans now have the opportunity to get down in the dirt with the exclusive VIP Ticket. For only $60, this premium event ticket offers fans access to the PBR Built Ford Tough Corral Party for one hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. Get up close to the chutes and meet the superstars of the PBR with this limited offer available only to VIP Ticket holders.
Showing the way to Halifax is five-time PBR Canadian National Finals qualifier Zane Lambert of Westbourne, MB, who now leads the national standings after his event win in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on April 16. Hot on Lambert’s heels are top-ranked Alberta natives Tyler Thomson and Ty Patten, who sit second and third, respectively. Also excepted to compete this Saturday, all the way from Colonia Juárez, Chihuahua, is 2006 PBR Mexican National Champion Rocky McDonald.
The action begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature two rounds of back-to-back 8-second rides and jaw-dropping wrecks. All riders will compete in Round 1, with the Top 12 scores returning to the Championship showdown. The overall event winner will be the rider with the highest combined score after two rounds. This is not a rodeo; it’s the Toughest Sport on EarthTM.
