Ephrom gets win at London PBR
LONDON, Ontario (April 3, 2011) -
After putting together two solid rides, Dusty Ephrom of Arcola, SK, captured his first Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Canadian Cup Series win Saturday night at John Labatt Centre and earned $7,833.60 for the victory. Ephrom grabbed an early lead in Round 1 when he rode Anger Management (J Bar W Ranch) for 87.5 points. Moving into the Championship Round, fans had plenty of reasons to cheer after Ephrom covered Cool Hand Luke (Chausse Bucking Bulls) for 89.5 points, the highest marked ride of the night.
“I’m feeling good”, commented Ephrom. “I’m in good shape and not hurting anywhere. I hope to continue riding healthy and get back on the Built Ford Tough Series.”
Finishing second through two rounds was Reese Cates, El Doraro, AR, who rode Fluffy Bunny (J Bar W Ranch) for 87 points in Round 1, followed by an 83.5-point ride on Tequila Splash (J Bar W Ranch). 2007 PBR Canadian National Champion Tyler Pankewitz of Warburg, AB, also went 2-for-2 and captured third overall. Pankewitz stayed on Illigetiment (J Bar W Ranch) for 82 points in the first round and rode Partyline (Mark Reed) for 84.5 points on his final out.
Brian Hervey of Brant, AB, rounds out the London Invitational with a fourth place finish. Hervey stayed on Happy Hour (J Bar W Ranch) 83.5 points in Round 1, but was unsuccessful atop Chrome (Mark Reed) in the Championship Round.
