Win Renews Cowboy's Confidence

WINNIPEG, Manitoba  (April 4, 2010) - On Saturday night the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) invaded the MTS Centre for stop no. 4 on the Canadian Cup Series presented by Wrangler. Colby Yates (Sulphur Springs, TX, USA) entertained a packed house with two phenomenal rides to earn his first Cup Series win of the season. “This is just great,” Yates said while accepting his event buckle. “I couldn’t ask for anything better.”

Yates covered Bo Duke (Coyote Creek Rodeo) for 87.5 points in round one and marked an 88 point ride in the championship round atop Evander owned by Girletz Rodeo Stock. Yates will add $7,803.00 to his 2010 earnings and heads home with renewed confidence.

“I’ve been feeling defeated and started questioning my ability,” commented Yates. “This win gives me something to look forward to and will help me get back on the Built Ford Tough Series.”

After completing a re-ride for 85.5 points on Rumble Seat (Sawyer Bucking Bulls) in round one, Cody Ford (
Heminston, OR, USA) rode Masterfeeds Gunpowder & Lead (Braithwaite Ranches) in the championship round for 88.5 points, finishing second overall with $5,049.00. Sevi Torturo (Oklahoma City, OK, USA) lead round one after marking an 88.5 point ride on Mainline Motors (Braithwaite Ranches) to earn a third place finish and $4,590.00. Rounding out the event was 2010 Team Canada member Tanner Girletz (Cereal, AB) who took home $2,754.00. Fan favorite and Manitoba’s own, Zane Lambert (Westbourne, MB) did not get the results he was looking for and unfortunately missed the eight second buzzer on Wango Tango (Battle River Rodeo) in round one.

On April 10, 2010, the Toughest Sport on Earth returns to Rexall Place in Edmonton, AB for the Lakeview Equipment Sales Invitational PBR Canadian Cup Series presented by Wrangler. Fans will enjoy more than two hours of action-packed rides and wrecks pumped with pyrotechnics and rock & roll excitement! Tickets for the event start at just $15. Visit ticketmaster.ca, the Rexall Place Box Office and call 780.451.8000 to experience the ultimate extreme sport!
