Texas Cowboy Proved Victorious in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD, British  (January 31, 2010) - The best bull riders in Canada and the world took Abbotsford, BC by storm when Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Canada invaded the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre (AESC) on January 29-30 for the first PBR Canadian Cup Series presented by Wrangler of the season. After two nights of non-stop action, an energetic crowd witnessed PBR superstar Harve Stewart (Stephenville, TX, USA) take home the coveted event title after staying on Bag of Hammers (Sissons Bucking Bulls) in the championship round for 90.5 points, the highest score of the weekend. “Whenever you pull a cheque, it’s a good day,” said Stewart from the winners circle, who added $7,009.20 to his 2010 qualifier earnings. “This is how you start a season.”
 
PBR superstar Zane Lambert (Westbourne, MB) placed second in championship round atop What Say You, owned by W.W.E. Rodeo Co. Ltd for 86 points and added $4,364.80 to his pocket. 2009 Team Canada member Tanner Girletz (Cereal, AB) captured third after conquering Girletz Rodeo Stock’s bull, Deigo for 85.5 points and earned himself $2,851.20. Rounding out fourth place was the talented Devon Mezei (Madden, AB) with two qualified rides in round one and two, finishing the weekend with $2,138.40.
